With fall sports wrapped up, it’s time for the season-ending awards. The list is long and full of Player of the Year and Coach of the Year winners from local schools.

 

GIRLS GOLF

- Asheboro’s Salem Lee was named Player of the Year in the Mid-Piedmont Conference. The Blue Comets’ Heather Norris was Coach of the Year.

 

- Caroline Wright of Providence Grove was Player of the Year and the Patriots’ Wes Luther was Coach of the Year in the Piedmont Athletic Conference.

 

SOCCER

- Asheboro’s Cristian Benitez was named Offensive Player of the Year in the Mid-Piedmont Conference. Calvin Smith was Defensive Player of the Year and Nick Arroyo was Coach of the Year. David Agudelo, Edwin Perez Vazquez, Daniel Gutierrez Resendez, Diego Gutierrez, Brandon Santos and Cristian Cruz Mendez were also named to the All-MPC team from Asheboro.

 

- Wheatmore’s Riley Queen was the PAC Offensive Player of the Year and the Warriors’ Jaxson Hatcher was Defensive Player of the Year. Trinity’s Mike Sink was Coach of the Year.

 

The rest of the all-PAC team included:

Wheatmore — Luke Beasley, Collin Burgess, Nick Galloway, Anakin Leister.

Trinity — Zack Cox, Grayson Earls, Brendan Jenkins, Cooper Pollock, Diego Torres, Moises Venture.

Eastern Randolph — Aaron Bowser, Axel Canela), Yane Jaimes, Jose Rosales.

Uwharrie Charter — Colby Chamblin, Nick Hodge, Jake Perreira.

Randleman — Chris Ayala, Owen Leonard, Nathan Murillo.

Southwestern Randolph — Fernando Hernandez, Jonathan Lopez.

Providence Grove — Logan Stover.

 

FOOTBALL

- Asheboro’s Eddie Soto, Hakemme Butler and Markell Graham were named to the Mid-Piedmont All-Conference team.

 

- Southwestern Randolph’s Easton Clapp was named Offensive Player of the Year in the Piedmont Athletic Conference, Davonte Brooks of Eastern Randolph was Defensive Player of the Year and Eastern Randolph’s Burton Cates was Coach of the Year.

 

The rest of the all-PAC team included:

Eastern Randolph — Stratton Barwick, Ervodd Cassady, Jake Fesmire, Adonye Herbert, Jani Norwood, A.J. Randall, Mason Sechrest, Ladaryan Spinks, Lucas Smith, Micah Taylor, D.J. Thomas.

Randleman — Bryson Atkins, Thomas Dobias,  Riley Edwards, Tanner Gneiting, Tyshaun Goldston, Christian Long, Caden Lunsford, Amarion Moton, Greg Price, Chesney Welch.

Providence Grove — Tucker Batten, Karson Bowman, David Brady, Zander Cheek, Zane Cheek, Lemuel Coltrane, Chase Whitaker, Colton Wood.

SW Randolph — Sean Adkins,  Adam Cole, Nathan Ellis, Eli Gravely, Colton Law, Hunter Simpson.

Wheatmore — Ashtin Bennett, Jonathan Kelly, Ethan Roberts, Trey Swaney, Jacob Ward.

Trinity — Griffin Dills, Evan Stepp, Joey Smith and Daniel Torreblanca.

 

CROSS COUNTRY

- Eastern Randolph’s Brecken Snotherly was Female Runner of the Year, Robert Burton of Eastern Randolph was Male Runner of the Year and Providence Grove’s Jonathan Ruiz was Coach of the Year for both male and female in the PAC.

 

VOLLEYBALL

- Madelyn Smith of Southwestern Randolph was MVP, the Cougars’ Coley Shiflet was Defensive Player of the Year and Darby Kennedy was Coach of the Year.

Randleman — Chloe Dixon, Karli Kennington.

Uwharrie Charter — Dacia Lowery, Chloe Painter.

TENNIS

- Andee Bullard of Southwestern Randolph was Player of the Year in the PAC and the Cougars’ Lori Lagrama was Coach of the Year.
