SWR, Randleman get four-set wins in volleyball

VOLLEYBALL

 

Madelyn Smith led the way with 20 kills and 8 digs in Southwestern Randolph’s 25-15, 21-25, 25-21, 25-8 win over Wheatmore. Reagan LeRoy had 39 assists and 5 aces. Gracie Hodgin had 10 kills while Coley Shiflet had 13 digs and 4 aces. Riley Key had 7 kills and 2 blocks.

 

Haley Pease led Wheatmore with 7 kills while Kynnedi Routh had 5. 

 

*Camden Scott led Randleman with 14 kills while Chloe Dixon had 20 digs and 11 kills in the Tigers’ 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 26-24 win over Providence Grove. Haley Hinshaw had 23 digs, 9 kills and 2 aces. Kenzie Roach had 24 assists, 10 digs and 3 aces. Mollie Hill had 9 kills and 2 blocks. Karli Kennington had 32 assists and Camryn Vickery served up 19 assists.

 

Gabi Carter had 9 kills and 3 aces in Randleman’s 25-9, 25-13, 25-20 win over Trinity. Roach had 17 assists and 11 digs for the Tigers. Dixon contributed 11 digs, 6 kills and 5 aces. Hinshaw had 11  digs, 5 aces and 4 kills. Kennington had 19 digs and 3 aces.

 

Carter had 12 kills and 12 digs in Randleman’s 25-12, 18-25, 14-25, 25-19, 15-6 loss to Oak Grove. Scott added eight kills for the Tigers. Roach contributed 15 assists and 14 digs. Vickery had 11 assists. Kennington got 26 digs and Dixon had 11.

 

*Dacia Lowery had 7 kills and 2 blocks in Uwharrie Charter's 25-13, 25-23, 25-16 win over Chatham Central. Chloe Painter had 7 aces and 2 blocks.

 

Painter had 10 kills, 5 blocks and 4 aces in Uwharrie Charter's 25-20, 25-21, 25-17 win over Wheatmore. Lowery had 7 kills and 2 blocks. Brewer had 5 kills and 5 blocks.

 

Lowery had 5 kills while Anna Brewer and Painter each had 4 in Uwharrie Charter’s 25-18, 25-19, 25-18 win over Eastern Randolph. 

 

Addie Flinchum led Eastern Randolph with 19 digs, 7 kills and 2 blocks. Logann Beaver had 12 digs, 5 kills and 2 blocks. Ziera Watson had 6 kills, Kenly Whitaker had 23 assists and Bailey Herring had 13 digs.

 

*Karrington Batten had 18 kills and 6 aces as Trinity swept High Point Central, 25-19, 25-14, 25-15. Sarabeth Johnson had 10 kills and Kaitlyn McCoy had 9. Madison Burgiss had 32 assists while Faith Powell had 9 digs and 4 kills.

 

Batten pounded 21 kills and had 4 blocks in Trinity’s 26-24, 25-21, 20-25, 25-13 win over Central Davidson. McCoy was right behind her with 18 kills and 3 blocks. Johnson had 13 kills, 9 digs and 2 aces. Burgiss had 32 assists and 13 digs. Eva Porter had 13 digs and Phoebe McCall had 20.

 

*Kaylen Nance had 22 assists and 6 aces in Asheboro’s 25-17, 25-21, 25-21 sweep of Central Davidson. Ellen Long had 8 kills, 2 blocks and ace. Sion Murrain provided 5 kills, 5 blocks and an ace.

 

Long had 8 kills, 4 blocks and 2 aces in Asheboro’s 17-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-22 loss to Oak Grove. Piper Davidson had 10 digs, 7 kills and 2 aces. Lia George had 9 digs and 6 kills. Nance had 33 assists and an ace. Sara Hildreth had 8 kills and 2 aces.

 

*Paige Needham got nine kills in Providence Grove’s 25-21, 25-18, 21-25, 26-24 win over Eastern Randolph. Emma Mazzarone had 6 kills and 4 blocks for the Patriots. Caitlyn Stephens had five blocks.

 

Flinchum led Eastern Randolph with 16 kills and 17 digs. Nyasia Wharton had 10 kills, Whitaker had 30 assists, Herring had 40 digs, Beaver had 8 blocks and 3 aces and Kaylie Courtemanch had 11 digs.

 

GIRLS GOLF

 

Asheboro’s Salem Lee shot a 37 to claim medalist honors in a Mid-Piedmont Conference match with Oak Grove.

Lee shot a 1-over-par 37 to finish second in a match with O’Neal School at Mid South Club in Southern Pines.

 

SOCCER

 

Christian Ortiz scored the lone goal and Ozmar Martinez got the assist as Asheboro remained undefeated with a 1-0 win over Langtree Charter.

 

*Israel Jaramillo scored two goals for Uwharrie Charter in the Eagles’ 5-2 win over Providence Grove.

 

*Riley Queen and Henry Santos each scored two goals in Wheatmore’s 7-1 win over Randleman.
