Another busy week heading into Spring Break for local school systems. Let’s get to it.
Baseball
■ Carson Coltrane had three hits and drove in two runs as Southwestern Randolph beat previously unbeaten Randleman 6-2. Brady Armfield had a hit and three RBIs. Carson Williams had an RBI single. Lucas Connor had three hits. Logan Weidman pitched 4 2/3 innings, striking out seven. Lane Poole finished up with 2 1/3 innings on the mound, giving up an unearned run.
Jackson Hill and Lincoln Lawson both had a single and double for Randleman.
■ Brody Little and Peyton Williams homered in Trinity’s 17-1 rout of Thomasville in three innings. Lincoln Coble struck out four.
■ Andrew Thomas and Colin Duval both had two hits, including a triple, as Providence Grove beat East Davidson 5-3. Will Dabbs and Chase Collins both had two hits, including a double. Trevor Kirkman pitched five innings, striking out eight.

■ Jake Hunter pitched a six-hitter with one earned run allowed and 10 strikeouts while collecting two hits, including a double, with two RBIs in Uwharrie Charter’s 7-4 win over Asheboro. Rusty Wheless had two hits and an RBI. Keaton Hill also had two hits and Ty McCauley had a two-run double. Levi Mitchell doubled in a run and Jason Smith had an RBI single.
Asheboro’s Reid Suddeth was 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Nolan Shaw had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.
■ Hunter Goddard had two hits and an RBI in Wheatmore’s 12-1 loss to West Davidson. Lukas Usterbowski tripled.
■ Levi Stalker had a pair of doubles in Eastern Randolph’s 2-1 loss to Clover Garden. ER’s Maddox Dunn pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts.
■ Shane Immel had two hits and an RBI in Asheboro’s 3-2 loss to Southern Alamance. Suddeth had a triple. Daniel Jaimes went the distance on the mound, giving up 10 hits with five strikeouts.

■ Poole’s three-run homer was the difference in SW Randolph’s 5-3 win over Chatham Charter. Matthew Blankenship, Armfield and Poole all had two hits. Elijah Sykes had a two-run single. Blankenship pitched six innings and struck out three.
■ Grayson Fauber had two hits and an RBI as Trinity routed Thomasville 17-2. Peyton Williams was the winning pitcher.
■ Goddard had a two-run single in Wheatmore’s 7-2 loss to West Davidson.
■ Hill and McCauley both had two hits and two RBIs in Uwharrie Charter’s 12-2 win over Asheboro. Hunter had a two-run single and Brody Engle doubled in a run. Hill pitched a five-inning four-hitter with five strikeouts.
Immel and Jaimes had RBI singles for Asheboro.
■ Cade McCallum pitched five innings and struck out 10 in

Eastern Randolph’s 8-1 win over Chatham Central. Chance Holdaway had two hits. Bryson Marley, Dunn and Carlos Cordero had RBI singles.
■ Thomas tossed a six-hitter over six innings while collecting three hits, including a triple and an RBI, as Providence Grove beat East Davidson 4-2. Jacob Flinchum had two hits and an RBI. Connor Haithcock doubled in a run and Chase Collins pitched a scoreless seventh inning to earn a save.
■ Riddle was 3-for-3 and Tate Andrews had a two-run double in Randleman’s 4-3 loss to West Forsyth. Gavin Vanover had two hits, including a double.
Softball
■ Ruby Caudle had three hits and four RBIs as Providence Grove beat Eastern Randolph 14-0. Adi Johnson had two triples and two RBIs. Liz Shoe had a single, triple and three RBIs. Lara Wiseman had two hits and an RBI. Callie Lambert had an RBI double and Bailey Cain had an RBI single. Campbell Ziemba had an RBI single and pitched a five-inning four-hitter with seven strikeouts.
Vivian Underwood, Hailey Ritter, Shelby Williams and Kaydence Swaney had hits for Eastern Randolph.
■ Kadie Green had three hits and four RBIs in Randleman’s 13-5 win over Western Alamance. Kaylee Phillips had a home run, single and four RBIs. Kinzie Ivey also blasted a home run. Lyric Chriscoe, Addyson Dees and Elsie Prince all had two hits. Teanna Bostick had a two-run single and Ella Rogers singled in a run and pitched three innings of relief, allowing one unearned run with four strikeouts.
■ Makenna Lawrence had two hits, including a double, and an RBI in Wheatmore’s 7-6 loss to Gray Stone Day. Kyndal Kinley had a single, double and two RBIs. Lylah Gower had a single, double and an RBI. Raylan Barber had two hits and Skylar Pittman singled in a run.
■ Wiseman hurled a three-inning perfect game with seven strikeouts as Providence Grove overwhelmed Thomasville 16-0. Johnson had a single, triple and two RBIs. Wiseman had two hits and an RBI. Caudle had a two-run single.
■ Emma Gower had a single, double and two RBIs in Wheatmore’s 11-1 win over Trinity. Skylar Pittman had two hits and three RBIs. Adalyn Boles struck out 12 in five innings.
Abigail Rebert had a single and double for Trinity. Emily Huneycutt also had two hits.
■ Prince had a single, triple and four RBIs as Randleman throttled Southwestern Randolph 12-4. Phillips had a single, double and three RBIs. Lilah Covington, Dees and Ivey all had RBI singles. Ivey pitched a complete game with five strikeouts.
Maddie Strider had a two-run double for Southwestern Randolph.
■ Cora Little had two hits and five RBIs as Asheboro rallied for nine runs in the top of the seventh to beat Trinity 18-11. Kloe Woody had two hits and three RBIs. Kayla Basulto had two hits and two RBIs. Shellee Culler was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Kyndall Snipes had two hits and an RBI.
Rebert led Trinity with three hits and three RBIs. McKinley Butcher had an RBI double and Carlie Roberts had a two-run single. Makryah Coles had an RBI single.
■ Callie Lambert smashed a two-run homer and Johnson blasted a solo home run in Providence Grove’s 6-3 loss to West Davidson.
■ Katelyn West hurled a complete game with nine strikeouts and got a hit in Southwestern Randolph’s 3-2 loss to McMichael.
■ Tori Dixon had two hits in Uwharrie Charter’s 6-4 loss to the Forsyth Home Educators.
■ Phillips had three hits, including a walkoff home run, and four RBIs as Randleman rallied with four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Reagan 10-9. Dees had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Kadie Green had two hits.
Soccer
■ Jocelyn McDowell, Tatum Wagner and Kaitlyn Vasquez scored goals in Wheatmore’s 3-0 win over East Davidson. Kayla Robinson had an assist and Kinsley Davis made five saves.
■ Jaira Arellano scored two goals in Asheboro’s 3-1 win over Southwestern Randolph. Kimrey Watts got the other goal. Penny Smith had an assist and Crystal Castaneda made four saves.
Alaina Kidd scored Southwestern Randolph’s goal on a penalty kick.
■ McDowell and Wagner scored the goals in Wheatmore’s 2-0 win over West Davidson. Vasquez had an assist and Davis made seven saves.
■ Alexis Bautista scored the goal in Asheboro’s 5-1 loss to Mount Tabor. Castaneda made 12 saves.
Boys Golf
■ Wheatmore was second to East Davidson in a Central Carolina Conference match at Sapona Golf and Swim Club. Avery Ivey led the Warriors with a 42 and was fourth overall. Collin Dodd shot a 43 while Max Antignano and Evan Gordon shot 44.
■ Southwestern Randolph finished second and Providence Grove was third in a four-team match at Tot Hill Farm. Dylan Sheffer led Southwestern Randolph with a 42 and was third overall. Caleb Abernethy shot 43 as did Providence Grove’s Taylor Turner.
Boys Track & Field
■ Wheatmore beat Trinity and Thomasville in a three-team Central Carolina Conference meet.
Winning for Wheatmore were the 4x200 relay, Ryan Mabe
(1600 meters), the 4x100 relay, Ayden Fitzgerald (3200 meters), the 4x100 relay, Zach Helton (long jump), Charlie Perry
(triple jump) and Noah Wyrick (shot put, discus).
Winning for Trinity were Corbin Heugly (110-meter hurdles), Kiefer Lindsay (100-meter dash, 200 meters) and Giovanni Jaimes (800 meters).
■ Winning for Providence Grove in a three-team CCC meet were Malachi Combo (200 meters, 300-meter hurdles) and the 4x200 relay.
Girls Track & Field
■ Wheatmore beat Trinity and Thomasville in a three-team Central Carolina Conference meet.
Winning for Wheatmore were Kahmarii McNeill (100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles), Brooklyn Hittepole (100-meter dash, 200 meters), Scarlett Hildreth (1600 meters, 3200 meters), Lydia Madison (800 meters), Kylyn Surratt (pole vault, long jump), Allie Owen (triple jump) and Mara Meservey (shot put).
■ Winning for Providence Grove in a three-team CCC meet were Laurel Bernhardt (800 meters, 1600 meters), Baylee Mitchell (3200 meters), Lyndsay Browder (300-meter hurdles), the 4x400 relay, the 4x800 relay and Karis Ferguson (long jump).
Winning for Trinity were the 4x200 relay (Kayla Franklin, Abi Mortenson, Judith Davis, Leyla Martinez) and Franklin (400 meters, high jump).
Boys Tennis
■ Silas Jessup, Paul Ervin and Michael McNamara won in singles as Wheatmore beat West Davidson 6-3. The teams of Jessup/Ervin, Matthew Davis/McNamara and Avery Plummer/Christian Henderson swept the doubles.
Boys Volleyball
■ Thomas Vasquez Santos had 5 kills and 6 aces as Asheboro swept Glenn 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-18). William Hernandez Miranda had 5 kills and 4 blocks. Josh Prochnau had 4 aces, 6 blocks and 3 kills. Jewel Barrett-Riggins had 4 kills and 4 blocks. Ryan Vasquez Santos had 15 assists.
