It was another record-setting week for Wheatmore soccer star Ellie Garrison. Already owning the official state record for career goals, she scored 11 goals over two games and in the process broke an unreported mark of 226 goals compiled by Isabel Pearce of Woods Charter in Chatham County in the late 2010s. Garrison now has 230 goals (the official state record was 217) and each future goals will just add to a career mark that will be tough for any future player to catch.

Meanwhile, Macie Crutchfield pitched back-to-back shutouts, including an 11-inning effort, to pace the Southwestern Randolph’s softball team last week, while Randleman’s Seth Way tossed a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts in a baseball victory.
