Football Roundup: Asheboro comes up short; SE Randolph's Sheppard runs all over Northwood

Here’s a look at other Randolph County football games from Friday night.

NE Guilford 38, Asheboro 35

Dallas Brinton ran for two touchdowns and threw for another in Asheboro’s 38-35 loss to Northeast Guilford. The Blue Comets’ quarterback had 110 yards rushing and 88 yards through the air. Connor Brinton had 79 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. D.J. Scott had a rushing touchdown.

Jewel Barrett-Riggins had a 20-yard touchdown catch. Garrison Cheek had 26 yards rushing on 6 carries, caught 2 passes for 37 yards and completed a pass for 25 yards. Jayden Spruill caught 4 passes for 39 yards and Jefferson Aguilar was 5-of-5 on extra-point kicks.

SW Randolph 20, Northwood 14

Brody Sheppard ran 29 times for 204 yards and 2 touchdowns as Southwestern Randolph beat Northwood 20-14. Sheppard’s TDs covered 11 and 42 yards. Levi Dalke threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Nathan Garner.

Randleman 48, Ledford 14

John Kirkpatrick threw touchdown passes of 27 yards to Nazir Staton and 30 yards to Connor Cassidy in Randleman’s 48-14 romp over Ledford. Kirkpatrick was 13-of-21 for 199 yards and added a 9-yard touchdown run. Brandon Boone had a 2-yard touchdown run and Kayden Saunders had 62 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown run, on 7 carries. Jamari Rice had a 56-yard reception.

Tate Andrews returned a fumble 11 yards for a touchdown to pace the defense.
