The PAC conference awards were revealed last week, and additionally, some players made all-state and/or all-region teams. Here’s a wrapup.
Logun Wilkins and Brett Smith of three-time state champion Uwharrie Charter were named to the North Carolina Baseball Coaches Association 1-A all-state team.
— Randleman’s Braxton Walker and Providence Grove’s Andrew Thomas were named to the 2-A all-state team.
The following players were named to the all-Region 5 team: Lincoln Lawson (Randleman), Jake Riddle (Randleman), Lincoln Coble (Trinity), Brody Little (Trinity), Ethan Willard (Trinity), Gage Griffiths (Trinity), Walker Parrish (Trinity), Jose Ramirez (Uwharrie Charter), Jake Hunter (Uwharrie Charter) and Rowan Wagner (Wheatmore).
— Randleman’s Walker was named Player of the Year in the 1-A/2-A Piedmont Athletic Conference and the Tigers’ Jake Smith was named Coach of the Year. Wilkins was named Pitcher of the Year.

— Zack Scruggs had a two-run single in Randolph County’s 7-6 loss to Davidson County. Post 45 had rallied for five runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game before Davidson County won on a walk-off. Ethan Willard had an RBI double and Braxton Walker had an RBI single. Carter Brown doubled in a run. Tate Andrews, the third Randolph County pitcher, took the loss.
— Weston Phillips had a two-run double in Liberty’s 9-4 loss to Garner. Grant Kirk smashed a solo home run and Noah Lester had an RBI single.
— Ben Luck had a sacrifice fly and Walker had two hits in Randolph County’s 10-1 loss to Rowan County.
— Brown doubled twice while Walker had a hit and two RBIs as Post 45 rallied for a 4-3 win over Kannapolis. Brody Little had an RBI single. Sean Jennison pitched a six-hitter over six innings with four strikeouts. Andrews pitched a scoreless seventh inning for the save.
— Willard led off the game with a home run and Brown had a two-run blast as Post 45 beat Liberty 5-2. Cohen Caviness had an RBI single. Walker hurled a three-hitter through six innings to get the win. Elijah Prince struck out the side in the seventh inning to earn a save.
Eli Holland drove in both Post 81 runs with a solo home run and a double.
— The former Randleman star was batting .274 with 5 home runs and 25 RBIs through games of June 6 for the Greenville Drive, the High-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Brannon had a 13-game hitting streak through June 6.
— The former Post 45 pitcher was 0-2 with a 2.34 earned run average and 7 saves as the closer through games of June 6 for the Long Island Ducks of the independent Atlantic League. Williams, who spent five seasons in the Atlanta Braves organization, has not allowed an earned run in his last 10 appearances.
— Randleman’s Addyson Dees and Southwestern Randolph’s Alyssa Harris were named co-Players of the Year in the PAC. Southwestern Randolph’s Macie Crutchfield was Pitcher of the Year and the Cougars’ Toby Strider was Coach of the Year.

— Providence Grove’s Taryn Waugh was named Offensive Player of the Year, Uwharrie Charter’s Abbie Gudino was named Defensive Player of the Year, Uwharrie Charter’s Frankie Aguilar was named Coach of the Year in the PAC and Southwestern Randolph got the Sportsmanship award.

— Silas Jessup of Wheatmore was named Player of the Year and Southwestern Randolph’s Stephen Owen was named Coach of the Year in the PAC.
