Author, teacher, speaker, and Founder of House of Hope Orlando and National House of Hope, Sara Elizabeth Trollinger, 92, died on July 10, 2025.
A native of Asheboro, NC, Sara was one of six children, survived by one sister and brother-in-law, and nieces, nephews and their children.
She graduated from Woman’s College (UNCG), earning a degree in Education, in Greensboro, NC, and later earned her Masters at the University of South Florida. She taught school for 25 years in Florida’s Orange County school system.
Sara was well known for her passion for healing troubled teenagers and reconciling families. Her vision, which gave birth to House of Hope in 1985, has touched thousands of lives across the country.
She was a spiritual “mother” to many, an encourager to all, and a champion for healing, restoration, and transformation. Sara lived her life well with bold faith and unwavering purpose.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at First Orlando, 3000 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL, on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 11 a.m. with a reception following in Faith Hall.
