JEAN KINDSCHI

ASHEBORO — Jean Rhodes Kindschi, 73, of Asheboro, went to be with Jesus in Paradise on Jan. 17, 2024.

 

A funeral service was conducted Wednesday, Jan. 24, at Rushwood Church, with Dr. Brent Tysinger officiating. Burial followed at Randolph Memorial Park.

 

Jean was born on Sept. 24, 1950, in Alamance County. She was retired from the Randolph County Schools as a K-5 music teacher at Randleman and Level Cross Elementary Schools. She was an active member of Asheboro Community Bible Study, serving as an assistant core leader for 18 years. 

 

Jean was one of the water aerobic instructors at the Asheboro YMCA. She was a champion walker and supporter of Love Life in Greensboro. 

 

She was a member of Rushwood Church in Asheboro for 19 years. She was the coordinator of Best Years Fellowship and Trip Planner for Rushwood Church. Jean was a current teacher in the AWANAS Children's Program at Rushwood Church as well. 

 

She was an active member of the Randolph Senior Steppers line dance group. Jean enjoyed beach music and shag dancing at Larry Furr's venue in Denton on Friday nights. She was a Southern Gospel music fan, and attended as many concerts as possible.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Cora Rhodes of Burlington. Jean is survived by her husband, Steve Kindschi of the home; sisters, Jackie Kane of Gibsonville, Judith Cone of Gibsonville, Mary Adams of Burlington; and three nieces and three nephews.

 

The family received friends at the church prior to the service.
