Edwin Vaughn Marriott Sr.

RAMSEUR — Edwin Vaughn Marriott Sr., 82, passed away on Oct. 22, 2021, at Universal Health Care. 

Born in West Winfield, NY, on March 18, 1939, he was the son of the late George Franklin Marriott and Emma Dickenson Marriott.

Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Amy Ward, Ethel Marriott, Mae Ray, Sarah Rolewicz, Hazel Morrison and Pauline Marriott; brothers, James, Richard, Stanley, Paul and Floyd. 

He is survived by his sisters Wanda Semeraro, Nellie Frost, Helen Kelly and Grace Nolan; children, Edwin (Lisa) Marriott, Robert (Kelly) Marriott, Michael Marriott and Doug Betler; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

His greatest joy in life was his family; he loved being around them whenever he was able to. He was proud of his service to the US Army National Guard. 

He was trained in many things, from farming, operating machines in a factory, and operating rides at a carnival where he assisted children with being secured so they could enjoy the ride. He could also take the rides apart and put them back together when the carnival moved to new locations. 

He will have a burial at Unadilla Forks Cemetery in New York in the summer.
