Earl Norman Morin

LIBERTY — Earl Norman Morin, age 79, of Liberty, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at his home. 

Earl was a US Navy veteran of the Vietnam era who served on the USS Kitty Hawk CVA 63. He was a member of the American Legion Post 81 in Liberty where he enjoyed cooking for the members on meeting nights.

His career involved retail, auto mechanics and then retired from Michael Thomas Furniture. He had a good time golfing with all of his buddies. 

A few of his other favorites included gardening, reading, traveling and antiquing. You could always get him fired up over the latest political topics where he was sure to share his opinion. He will be remembered fondly for his sense of humor, always having a joke and being an incredible entertainer. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Loflin Funeral Home, 212 W. Swannanoa Avenue, Liberty, NC. 

The family will receive friends for a time of visitation following the service at the funeral home. Earl will be laid to rest at Salisbury National Cemetery. 

He was the son of the late Raymond Francis and Irene Forcier Morin and was also preceded in death by his sister, Marge Craven. 

Earl is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan Gaunt Morin; daughters, Michelle M. Miller (Michael) and Jacqueline M. Mignosa (Jack); son, Richard W. Morin (Anne Marie); and seven grandchildren, Hannah Mignosa Martin (Nick), Lexie Mignosa, Chloe Miller, Cierra Miller, PoHan Miller, Slade Morin, and Lucy Mignosa.
