Meet the Leadership Randolph Class of 2023

ASHEBORO – Leadership Randolph was established in 1988 by the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce and has now produced over 875 graduates in its 34 years. The program offers many of the county’s most community minded citizens the opportunity to learn more about Randolph County.

Leaders are an invaluable community resource. The Leadership Randolph program was formed to help develop this most precious resource by offering this unique opportunity for those selected to participate.

The complex nature of our time and associated challenges demand that our leaders are prepared and informed. It is the goal of Leadership Randolph to produce leaders who are interested in Randolph County both now and in the future.

Leadership Randolph is a highly structured 10-month program in which a wide variety of resources, issues and services will be examined. Participants interact with business and community leaders. Information and special tours offer an in-depth look into local opportunities, challenges and decisions.

The day-long sessions one day each month are scheduled at locations in and around the county. Curriculum essentials remain the same, basically, from year to year for each of the sessions; however, some flexibility is built in for major issues and/or topics of current interest.  Prominent individuals from the public and private sector give their time, talent and knowledge to serve as speakers and/or session leaders for the monthly sessions.

The participants shown graduated as the 2023 Class of Leadership Randolph at a ceremony held on Oct. 24 and sponsored by Randolph Electric Membership Corp. The ceremony was led by program Co-Chairs Amanda Varner of the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and Scott Harris of Technimark LLC. A steering committee helps plan and facilitate the monthly sessions as well as businesses that help to sponsor the sessions.
