There will likely be many displays of fireworks throughout Randolph County marking another birthday for our country. Some will be public; others might be a few of your neighbors gathering for some sparkling fun. others may come and enjoy the festival. Please be considerate of neighbors and do not park in their yards or block their driveways.
Here are some of the major events scheduled. The others you’ll have to listen for or start yourself!
ASHEBORO — Asheboro’s annual Fourth of July fireworks are scheduled for July 2 at McCrary Park following the end of the Asheboro ZooKeepers’ home game with the Florence Flamin- gos.
The game begins at 6:30 p.m. with the fireworks expected to start around 9:30-10 p.m., depending on how long the game takes to complete.
The ZooKeepers are having began the week in a three-way battle for first place in the Coastal Plain League’s West Division.
Tickets can be purchased online on the ZooKeep- ers website for $11.63 apiece in the main grandstand or $8.48 in the general admission areas down the third or first base lines. Tickets can also be bought at the gate.
ARCHDALE — On Friday, July 4, the City of Archdale will celebrate Independence Day with an event running from 4 to 9 p.m., which will include food trucks and fireworks, plus music by Walden Sound Systems beginning at 6 p.m. The fireworks display will begin after dusk.
Creekside Park will be closed to vehicle traffic until 2 p.m. Archdale Parks and Recreation staff and Archdale Police will direct traffic and show cars where to park inside Creekside Park until all spots are full. Due to limited parking inside Creekside Park, officials ask attendees to take up only one spot so others may come and enjoy the festival. Also, please be considerate of neighbors and do not park in their yards or block their driveways.
RANDLEMAN — Randleman’s annual Fun Fourth is on the menu again this year at Commerce Square Park in downtown Randleman.
The event will run from 6-9 p.m. with an agenda featuring free hot dogs and drinks, live music (the band Nine2Midnight, which begins its concert at 6 p.m.), a bounce house and fireworks beginning at 9 p.m. to cap off the evening.
Vendors and Four Saints Brewing will be on site.
■ At Caraway Speedway on Saturday, July 5, the racetrack in Sophia will hose the Rusty Harpe Memorial Triple Header & Fireworks, Sophia, from 8-11:30 p.m.
LIBERTY — Liberty’s July Celebration & Fireworks on North Fayetteville Street in Downtown Liberty will take place from 4-10 p.m.on Saturday, July 12. Fireworks are expected to begin around 9:30 p.m.
The celebration will include live music, bounce houses and water slides, vendors, ice cream, a hot dog eating contest and several food trucks: Tacos Mama Chava, Hot Cakes & Chicken, Honey Catering, Custom Corn,
Shaved Paradise, Polar Ice and Donut NV. Also, the Liberty Fire Department will be watering down kids with its ladder truck.
