Eligible local organizations can apply for EFSP grant funds

ASHEBORO — Randolph County has been awarded more than $80,000 in emergency funding for food and shelter services throughout the county. 

Through Phase 43 of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), the county was granted $36,856. 

Through Phase 42, the county was granted $45,394, creating a total of $82,250.

Local organizations providing eligible emergency food and shelter services are invited to apply for funding through the Randolph County EFSP Local Board.

Under the terms of the grant from the EFSP National Board, organizations selected to receive funding must:

■ Be a private voluntary nonprofit organization or eligible public agency 

■ Be eligible to receive federal funds 

■ Maintain an accounting system 

■ Practice nondiscrimination

■ Demonstrate the capability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter services

■ Maintain a voluntary board if the organization is a private voluntary nonprofit

■ Have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) issued by the federal government

■ Have a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)

EFSP funding may only be used for eligible direct assistance to support emergency food and shelter needs.

Applications are available online at uwrandolph.org or may be requested by emailing Samantha Baker at sbaker@uwrandolph.org.

Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2026. 

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
