ASHEBORO — Ever wonder what actually happens to your ballot after you drop it in the box?
Team Democracy is partnering with County Boards of Elections across North Carolina for behind-the-scenes tours of your local election office.
In Randolph County, that tour will happen on Thursday, Oct. 1, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the elections board’s office at 1457 N Fayetteville St., Asheboro.
To register for the tour, visit the website Principlesfortrustedelections.org/election-tours.
Whether you’ve never set foot in an election office or you know the process inside and out, these tours give you a front-row seat alongside the people who run it.
These tours are taking place in counties across North Carolina so you can see the “life of a ballot” up close no matter where you live.
At each stop you’ll get a look at the stuff that never makes the news, like how a ballot gets designed, printed and counted.
You’ll also get a chance to sit down with the experts in your community who have been running elections for years to chat and ask questions.
Through the Election Center Tour Series you will:
■ See your county’s election process up close.
■ Learn the “life of a ballot,” from start to finish.
■ Get real answers on topics like election security.
■ Sit down and ask questions directly to the people running your county’s elections
