Brandon Shepherd will add some Michael Jackson moves into his ‘Christmas and More’ concert set for Friday, Nov. 6.
ASHEBORO — Brandon Shepherd has revised his Nov. 6 concert at the Sunset Theatre from a strictly Christmas show to “Christmas and More.”
“I’ve updated it to make it more energetic so folks can clap their hands and have a good time,” the local entertainer said.
He had originally planned to do a show that included just Christmas music. But since the timing is more than a month from the holiday, Shepherd chose to include hits by artists such as Roy Orbison, the Temptations, Michael Jackson, Elvis, the Beatles and more.
He said about half the concert will align with the Christmas theme, with favorites like “Rudolph,” “Winter Wonderland” and “O Holy Night.” He’ll also have his own vinyl record available with “All I Want for Christmas Is You” on one side and “Dancing in the Snow,” which he wrote with Caleb Lucas, on the other.
Shepherd offers a one-man show with vocals, guitar, keyboard and bass. His annual concerts at the Sunset Theatre have attracted a large following of fans.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. and those arriving early can watch videos on the big screen. Santa will be there to greet the public until the show starts at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased ahead of time at Jed’s Barbecue & Seafood, 1213 N. Fayetteville St., or Brightside Gallery, 170 Worth St. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
