Recovery Celebration Event returns, set for Sept. 19

ASHEBORO — Randolph County Opioid-Drug Community Collaborative has announced this year’s Recovery Celebration event will be on Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Keaton’s Place parking lot at 120 Worth Street, Asheboro, across the street from the Historic Randolph County Courthouse.

The event aims to honor the strength of individuals on their journey to recovery, while raising awareness about addiction and mental health challenges in our community. 

It will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities, including food trucks, children’s activities, an art show, and resource booths offering information about support services. 

Activities are designed for individuals of all ages, families and friends, ensuring a space for everyone to come together and celebrate resilience and hope. 

Event T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

“We’re excited to bring together members of our community to celebrate recovery and share the message that healing is possible,” said Jennifer Layton, Assistant Director of Randolph County Public Health. 

“This event is not just about recovery — it’s about creating a supportive environment and fostering connections among individuals, families and service providers.”

This event represents a united front in the fight against stigma and will empower individuals to seek help while providing hope for a brighter future. Everyone is invited to participate in this free event to promote healing, understanding and community solidarity.
