Operation Red Sleigh is a non-profit organization that began in 2000. The Sleigh Ride has been the organization’s primary fundraiser.
Local law enforcement, including NC Highway Patrol, started Operation Red Sleigh to assist families in Randolph County who were in need. The organization is given names of children in need by local school systems’ counselors / social workers. Members then help Santa shop for those children in Randolph County who will not have a Christmas. Money is raised throughout the year and normally a hot meal for the children and their family is also provided on the day the presents are distributed.
