Malpass Brothers set to play in Troy July 21

Classic country music is coming to Troy. The Malpass Brothers will be entertaining in the James Garner Center on Friday, July 21.

Brothers Chris and Taylor are best known as modern-day troubadours who carry the torch for traditional country music singing brother-duos made famous by the Louvin Brothers, Wilburn Brothers, and Jim & Jesse.

They also perform classics by Merle Haggard, Charlie Pride, Hank Williams, Marty Robbins, Lefty Frizell, Ernest Tubb and many other Nashville greats.

Their music has drawn the attention of other successful country entertainers, including Randy Travis.

“The Malpass Brothers offer no apologies for their traditional roots as they blend lovelorn heartbreak, clever humor and untarnished romance, “Travis, a Marshville native, said. “I’m so proud of these Carolina boys who know how to tell the story, while giving life to lyric with perfect pitch and collaborated harmony. Chris and Taylor have returned to us the music we all love and have yearned to hear again.”

Promoter Jeff Branch is happy to see the NC-based group return. “The Malpass Brothers are a crowd favorite. If you like traditional old country music, you will love these guys.”

“Jeff Branch has been a close friend for years to us. We always enjoy working for him,” Chris Malpass said. “He’s a top-notch person and great emcee. We look forward to playing for him in Troy. It’s a great venue. Please come out and enjoy some classic country and some laughs. We are super excited to be back in Troy with Jeff. See you there!”

The show begins at 7 pm. Tickets are $35 for reserved seating, $30 for general admission, and $10 kids 6-12. For tickets or more information, contact Jeff Branch at 704-985-6987 or jbranch205@gmail.com.

The James Garner Center is located at 210 Burnette Street in Troy.
