Ty Brueilly, MTTS celebrate 20th

Ty Brueilly, a local entrepreneur who began his Mightier Than The Sword (MTTS) brand and productions two decades ago, is finishing his 20th anniversary celebration with an all-day “Mighty Grand Finale” Dec. 11 at Sunset Theatre.

Admission to the 1 to 10 p.m. event is is $15, or $75 for VIP.

1 p.m. (all ages) — Casey Mull’s ‘Faded Zodiac’ sculpture showing & artist exhibit.

5 p.m. (all ages) — The final fashion show for fashion by brueilly. Pieces will be for sale.

6 p.m. (all ages) — Hometown premiere of Brueilly’s award-winning film “7EVENTH 7IRKLE.”

7:15 p.m. — Christmas Sweater Contest.

7:30 p.m. (18+) — Mighty Comedy Night 3 led by TFoxx.

8:30 p.m. (18+) — MTTS Reunion Concert, featuring 90 minutes of performances from past, present and future MTTS artists.

Several local town and city parades took place last weekend, but there are a few left to see this weekend.

Mouse still saving Christmas at some local libraries

That tiny hero who has been visiting Randolph County libraries this week has still got a few more to visit as Sigmon Theatrical continues to present “Mouse Saves Christmas,” an interactive stage adventure brought to life with breathtaking puppetry, toe-tapping music and a cast of professional performers with a goal to get audiences laughing and cheering.

The remaining schedule:

■ Seagrove, 530 Old Plank Road, 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec 11.

The performances are free and are sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

The Rat Pack visits Sunset Theatre for the holidays 

ASHEBORO — Rat Pack NOWA, a world-class tribute show, recaptures the classic music, style and dance of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. in this Dec. 13 visit to Sunset Theatre, 234 Sunset Ave., Asheboro.

In their day, all three entertainers were a powerhouse talent in their own right, and that remains the same in this nostalgic visit to yesteryear that’s filled with their legendary comedy and camaraderie. This trio of artists will take audience members back to vintage Las Vegas to put them in the holiday spirit.

Showtime is 7 p.m. Doors open at 6. Tickets are $25 and assigned seating; no exchanges or refunds will be allowed.

Pair of Bantum Rooster concerts Dec. 15 and 16

ASHEBORO — Bantum Rooster is back on stage for what used to be 

its annual Christmas concert. But it’s become so popular that now there are two concerts, one on Monday, Dec. 15 and the other on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

The Rockin’ Christmas Holiday Concerts start at 7 p.m. both nights and will be full of great Christmas music, fun surprises and memorable showmanship. 

Tickets are $20 for the main level and $15 for the balcony. Get tickets at sunsettheatre.org.

Friday Night Bluegrass features multiple bands

ASHEBORO — Usually the City of Asheboro’s monthly Friday Night Bluegrass series at Sunset Theatre featured a specific band. But this month, multiple acts will be on stage.

The annual holiday concert returns on Friday, Dec. 19, beginning at 7 p.m. Several bands will take turns playing favorite holiday songs.

Admission is $10.
