ASHEBORO — Celebrate 15 years of the Discovery Channel’s hit series “Moonshiners” with Killer Beaz, Josh Owens, Tickle, Jerry Benson and Dan Whitehurst live in Asheboro on Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Sunset Theatre.
Joining the “Best Buzz in Town” on stage are the iconic personalities who helped made the series one of cable television’s most enduring successes. Fans will enjoy an unforgettable evening filled with behind-the-scenes stories, laughter and memories as Appalachian legends Josh Owens, Steve Tickle and Jerry Benson share firsthand experiences from the show and their lives beyond the cameras.
Rounding out the all-star lineup is nationally touring comedian and former Nashville police officer Dan Whitehurst, known across the country as “America’s Funniest Cop,” bringing his own brand of clean, side-splitting comedy to an evening packed with entertainment.
The Moonshiner Mash In is a one-of-a-kind live experience that combines Killer Beaz’s signature “Shazam!” style of comedy with the authentic stories and personalities that have made “Moonshiners” a worldwide phenomenon. Randleman closes out busy summer with the Tonez

ASHEBORO — The latest chapter in the monthly 2026 Asheboro Cruise-In series takes place on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 6 to 10 p.m. in the parking lot of C4 Church, 1128 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro. Food, a cruise-in and actual cruising are all part of the free event held from 6 to 10 p.m. At least once a night, Michael Allred of the Grounded Elegance Car Club will lead participants onto Fayetteville Street for an old-fashioned cruise up and down the drag.
Food Truck State Championship returns to Randleman
RANDLEMAN — Randleman will host the North Carolina Food Truck State Championship for the 13th straight year on Saturday, Aug. 29. It’s a day full of numerous food trucks and music. The food trucks will compete for prizes while offering all sorts of options for visitors, from desserts, drinks, snacks, meals and more. Meanwhile, through the day, several bands will take turns performing. Plus there’s a kids zone. The event begins at 11 a.m. and runs through 10 p.m. in Randleman’s Commerce Square Park.
