Little Roy and Lizzy return to Troy

TROY – A January tradition in Troy returns! Little Roy Lewis has been providing musical entertainment and laughter annually in Montgomery County for almost 60 years! And he will do it again on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the James Garner Center.

“I started coming with my family in 1963,” recalled the banjo/guitar/auto-harp playing pint-sized singer and comedian.

Promoter Jeff Branch is happy to see the Lincolnton, GA, group return. “After two years off due to the pandemic, I am excited to be able to bring back Little Roy and Lizzy to the James Garner Center,” Branch said. “Many people have been craving bluegrass and we're ready to fill them up with the best.”

The Little Roy and Lizzy show features an evening of fast-paced bluegrass and gospel music with tight harmonies and intervals of side-slapping humor. Even at age 80, Little Roy hasn’t slowed down. He still hops around the stage, playing multiple instruments, telling jokes, donning crazy costumes and being the ultimate entertainer.

Lizzy Long joins in with a variety of instruments and vocals. They are backed by a full band of talented musicians.

Sponsored by the Troy Lions Club, which will be providing concessions, the show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for reserved seating. $15 for general admission. For tickets or more information, contact Jeff Branch at 704-985-6987 or jbranch205@gmail.com.

The James Garner Center is located at 210 Burnette Street in Troy.
