Results are in from this year’s Mayor’s Fitness Challenge

ASHEBORO — The results are in from the latest Mayor’s Fitness Challenge, held in October and November of this year.

The Challenge is a wellness competition involving individuals and teams from area schools, businesses, churches, civic clubs, government agencies and other organizations participating in activities that can be tracked using a fitness conversion tool found on the Healthy Communities website.

Thus, the Mayor’s Fitness Challenge is an “all activity” challenge, making it a fun way to measure your active lifestyle or an easy entry point into starting one, using almost any activity, from walking to gardening, as a starting point.

To help participants gain steps, organizers rotated Mayor’s Walks in each of the county’s major cities and towns and Sunday hikes at locations throughout the county.

In all this year, there were 256 participants.

The next Mayor’s Fitness Challenge will begin in the first week of October, 2026.
