Last week, artist Britt Flood of Pittsboro worked on a mural on the side of the Antiques & Geeks building at the corner of Sunset Avenue and Church Street. The mural, which she started on May 4 and expects to have finished by May 11, will be dedicated on Saturday during Mental Health Awareness Week activities organized by RhinoLeap Productions.

Flood has painted murals in Sanford and other locations out-of-state. She calls this one ‘Healing Is Possible.’ It ‘is an imagined portrait of someone sharing their feelings with others, not keeping them bottled up,’ she said. Near the bottom of the mural will be the Mental Health Hotline, 988.
