Welcome!

During a past Letter Carriers Food Drive, Tim Freeman loads a box of food on his mail truck.

It's that time!

ASHEBORO — Local letter carriers will be collecting nonperishable food for the needy on Saturday, May 13.

It’s part of the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive, now in its 31th year. More than 1.4 billion pounds of food have been collected during that time.

Last year the Asheboro carriers took in 15,600 pounds of food. Distributors this year are Christians United Outreach Center (CUOC), the Salvation Army and Southern Christians United Outreach of Seagrove.

Partnering with the Asheboro and Siler City letter carriers will be the Rural Letter Carriers, United Way of Randolph County, CVS Drugs, Valpak and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

To participate, on Saturday put nonperishable food items in plastic bags and place them inside your mailbox, hang it outside or place the bag on the ground next to the mailbox.
